Session Description:

Have you ever felt there are two people living inside you – one who wants to do what God requires and wants to live in a way that is pleasing to Him – and another that is driven by sexual longings that are not congruent with your faith? These two parts of us are often in direct conflict and rage war against one another. Sexual desire is the part of us that is God designed and longs to be pleasing to God, while sexual arousal is the part of us that is driven by the pleasures of the flesh and  contains unwanted sexual cravings. This workshop will examine arousal vs. desire. Each part will be defined and explored. How does sexual arousal come to be an entity separate from sexual desire?  What causes sexual arousal to want pleasures that are not consistent with the way we actually want to live our lives? Coping strategies will be explored to help individuals learn to live a life based in sexual desire and to control sexual arousal.
