Session Description:
Conflict surrounds homosexuality at every level. Those with SSA often experience conflict internally between opposing desires, goals, feelings, values, and identities. And sometimes we experience it between our self-concept and society’s labels and expectations. Families affected by SSA experience conflict between contradictory emotions, beliefs, goals, and loyalties. And at the societal level, we experience conflict between
opposing cultural, religious, and political ideologies. Conflict is a two-edged sword—it can be a source of pain and destruction or a catalyst for growth. If we are to mature individually, in our relationships, and as a community, we must learn effective responses to the conflicts we face. This workshop will teach you four practices for turning conflict into growth.
